Birthday – Date with Dear Girl

My day starts with a bowl of noodles and an egg by my mum. Also a selfie with mum and the watch she gave me for my birthday before going down to meet Dear Girl. Dear Girl came to fetch me in the morning for our brunch date. We had a unexpected long walk to Rochester Park (we took a wrong turn). It is definitely a good way to exercise since we have 15 minutes before the opening hour of the restaurant that we are going to.

Dear Girl made a reservation for us at North Border located at Rochester Park. Why Rochester Park? Somewhere near my next destination – Science Centre.birthday-lunchWe had a 2-courses set lunch and were served with a plate of complimentary chips. We chose 2 different type of fish as our mains and shared. combined_melxq combined_melxq1Thank You Dear Girl for always having me in mind. Am loved.

Birthday – Date with YH

A date with Yan Hui! Long awaited! 

Met her at noon, and we started off with shopping. I wanted to get some stuff from metro but we went to dfs to check out the prices first. To ensure value-for-money 👍🏻 

After walking dfs, we had lunch at omakase burger chain at wisma before continuing our shopping. After lunch, we walked to 313. Grabbed a drink before my shopping at centrepoint. I bought just 4 products but it costs me enough for me to be entitled to a luggage with just a $10 top up. After my shopping, we continue our walk towards plaza singapura. We walked non-stop to digest our meal and drinks. It’s really very filling. Our dinner at Coco Ichibanya. My L5 versus her L1 curry 😬 I am a chili padi!!! 

I almost finished those rice 😱 We then bought starbucks before heading home by bus. YH introduced me to a new drink – Matcha Espresso Fushion! Best of both world! Totally love it 😍 

Busses outside plaza singapura were all quite packed. So we walked back towards somerset (earlier busstops) to board our bus. 

I had an enjoyable day out with YH! I haven’t had such relaxing day, not worrying about anything, just eat, drink and talk! Love you 😘 

吃货们

Went out with the 吃货 gang for lunch at One KM – Beauty In a Pot. Was telling *Ching the photos were wuite badly taken. Haha! So I didn’t post it on instagram. From right: Stacey, Li Li, Ching & Me. 

After lunch, we went shopping at Bugis before chilling out with our 1-for-1 toffee nut latte at Starbucks! Another starbucks date for us. 

10Scotts @ Grand Hyatt

It’s our annual tai tai-hightea session once again. This year, *Ching brought us to 10Scotts at Grand Hyatt Singapore (Located just right beside Orchard Tangs).

Didn’t managed to reserve for the lunch timing at 12noon so we decided to still go ahead, but at 3pm seating instead. 

Ambience is warm and comfortable. Definitely not a noisy place for our atas lifestyle experience. We were being arranged to a low sofa seat. At first we felt that it would be uncomfortable to eat sitting at a lower ground but we came to love and appreciate it! 


The waitresses are all dressed in a brown drape. They made us feel like we are entering a massage saloon. Well, the earth color also helps to make us feel at ease. 

We went for some little bites for our first plate. I had a scones and some other sides such as the ham, siew mai and popiah! 

Our long awaited high tea tier! Don’t ask me what’s all that cause I only remember a few:

Top tier (from left): Hot dog bun with kimchi, Tuna Sandwich, Waygu Beef and Cheese Roll, Some berries dessert topped with Sour Cream and Some Cookies in Nutty Sauce.

Bottom tier (from left): Crab Cake, Curry Puff and Vietnamese Spring Roll.

Personally, I love the Crab Cake and Curry Puff! The crust of the puff is really crunchy and soft! Crab cake on the other hand is hard but crispy (deeply fried). Other items onthe tier are either mehhh or nehhh. 

Oh! I ordered another portion of the Crab Cake and finished it all by myself 🙊 

There is also steak served during high tea. *No sashimi but there’s oysters*

And how can we missed the desserts?! 

Icecream – Vanilla / Lychee Sorbet.

Cakes – I only remember the lemon meringue! We had 2 each! 

This marks the end of our 2.5hours taitai-session at 10Scotts Grand Hyatt! 

What’s next for taitai *Qian & taitai *Ching??? 

Maybe 1 more at the end of the year??? 

Hanoi with *Ching (5)

It’s our last day in Hanoi and we had quite a considerably early flight to catch (in the afternoon) so as to reach Singapore in the evening. 

We had quite a good spread in hotel.

And it is our last chance to drink a cup of vietnamese coffee before leaving! Cong Caphe! Here we come again… 

Ching caught me sitting so unglamorously in my dress. 

Haha! *Ching (below) sat with her legs together while me (above) sat with mine open!

While walking abck to our Hotel, we saw how local held their wedding.

Morning! Selfie first before heading out for breakfast! 

We checked out the breakfast in the hotel and was Super disappointed. Nothing is nice. Bread is hard. Coffee is bad. So we had a small bite and left for their local breakfast before going back to the “Bangalow”. 

We had to take the same mini boat back to the “Bangalow”. Today is so much better. Without the rain, we weren’t drenched!

Along the way and before we reached our Royal Cruise. 

We had some beverages before the food demonstration (how to wrap a fresh spring roll). 

Was quite disappointed! We thought it is cooking demonstration but there isn’t any cooking involved! ​

We had a hands on experience. What’s so difficult about wrapping a spring roll?!!!

Presenting to you, the most charming man on board! Our cruise manager who can speak English and Mandarin well!!! 

Cruise Manager asked me to take a photo of this! Chicken-fighting??? One popular spot along halong bay!

And it is time to say goodbye to Royal Cruise.

And we had to endure the same long bus ride back to mainland hanoi! Pit stop – where we bought snacks and mailed our postcards! 

We are the last few to drop off at hotel! Long wait for our WooHoo-Hotel!!! 

We went for massage before dinner and shopping! 

Finally it is time to ENJOY! 

Cong Caphe (again) before Dinner! I tried the iced coffee with coconut ice cream. And the verdict is – no-no for me! I rather have their normal iced coffee! 

Dinner Time!!! We need something that is not Spring Roll!!Meat for Dinner!!!

Waking up with this kinda scenery!

Simple breakfast. 
And after breakfast, we had to take the small boat to kayaking place.
After kayaking, we had to check out from our Royal Cruise to get onto another boat that will be sending us to Cat Ba Island. 

But just before we get to Cat Ba Island, we stopped by this “Bangalow” (Huts-Looking Bangalow) for Lunch and most of the people are going to stay there for a night (without wifi and entertainment). 


After lunch, we took a mini boat to Cat Ba Island! 

That’s a similar bost that we are on excluding the all-round-protection which we don’t have. 

Along the way, there are many floating villages. 

Along the way, *Ching and I suffered quite a fair bit. From the cold air and splashing water that got us drenched! 

真是狼狈不堪!

A driver came to fetch us in his 7-seater to our Hotel. We were just glad that at least there are some shops and wifi in hotel! Powerful wifi! 

After some walking, we chilled at some cafe. 

Then we continued to walk aimlessly round the small small town (unable to roam too far on foot). 

Visited their local wet market and bought pineapple at just SGD1 for one whole small pineapple!!! ​


Happen to chance upon the transporting of chicken and duck on this super duper dusty bus, as tho it has not had a bath for thousand over years! 

Some “sight” seeing before we buy local products and back to hotel for dinner and rest! 

The food provided by the hotel for us is actually not bad! It is like a 8-course chinese banquet! Not forgetting the super fresh squid that we had.
